She sort of gives a “State of the Union” message on digital from her perspective as an innovator and keen follower of the space. It is a perspective that she can uniquely share because of her experience as an author, ux specialist in answer to her interviewer. She is a digital columnist for The Globe and Mail in Trending Tech, a co-host on two highly followed video podcasts The Social Hour and Command N, a broadcaster on CTV and a strategist in digital for her firm MGIMedia, a Canadian leader in the Digital Strategy space.

New book Coming ?
And it appears we may have another masterpiece in the oven with a new book. Although Amber does not fully reveal if the next “book” will be in hardcover or online we see her own actions reflecting the changes in the market and await eagerly the outcome. The concept of book publishers publishing hardcovers versus digital online self-published multimedia efforts are undergoing massive change and Amber pointed to children’s interactive books as a classic example of changes. Also discussed was the disruption to the market from large players like Amazon delivering directly and by-passing the retail shops As an author she looks to advice from her readers at how they wish to get her content, and knowing this trendsetter in her wisdom she will make the right moves.
You Tube will grow in 2012
The explosion of video will continue in 2012 with You Tube being the biggest player, in conjunction with its other properties such as Google + being able to allow sharing directly, in addition to the integration with the manu other social properties. You Tube will have more direct competition in online video with the emergence of new models from the old established TV networks like CBS which already has made headway with quality productions being offered.
Social Networks Evolving
Facebook, Twitter,Google + are all on the scene with Facebook evolving with its business model quite well.New entries to the market are allowing it to get broadened at at the top by the big players with unique niche sites like Quora and Path springing off for distinct communities.
